Buffet, positively Polynesian, derived from French heritage, and inspired by Paul Gauguin, creates images depicting folklore of the Hawaiian and Polynesian islands, people and scenery. Using a vibrant color palette, he inspires a child-like playfulness.
Buffet has begun a pictorial pilgrimage, together with his written sentiments, entitled “On My Way to Meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama—the Quest for Gods and Heroes.” Now having reached an age of wisdom, he has decided to return to all the magical places and sites of bliss that he has known over his life, to culminate his journey in Dharamsala, the home of the Dalai Lama.
